Such things Must Happen
Matthew 24:6-8
As I sit here on my balcony, full of breakfast and sipping fine coffee. I look at the crystal blue skies and the fluffy white clouds, majestically drifting across the blue sky, as I gently roast under a beautiful sun. And I can’t help but think “God is in His heaven and all is well”.
God truly is in His heaven and all is well. The world may be in the throws of a financial crisis, and half the world is at war with the other half. Disease, and famine are clearly evident in the world. And only a few days ago there was an Earthquake in Ludian County in Yunnan, China, where they are still counting the number of dead. All these things are awful, and genuine human tragedies. And as the Bride of Christ, the Church, we are truly concerned and desire to help.
I have just finished reading the book of Revelation, and come to the Conclusion, that God really, really does want EVERYONE to be with him in eternity, and goes to quite extraordinary lengths to give everyone the chance to be with him. He shows His power through, Earthquakes, Wars and even Riders, of the Apocalypse, 7 plagues, Angel visitations and even Jesus comes back in a final attempt to persuade us. But still a hard core of humanity still chooses to worship the “Beast”, even in the face of such undeniable evidence of the Glory of God.
But the last two chapters in the book of Revelation tell of glorious salvation, God wipes away the old, creates a new Heaven and Earth where “He will wipe every tear from [our] eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things [will have] passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) and best of all “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling-place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.'” (Revelation 21:3)
So, yes all these things must happen, so as many as possible get to spend eternity in the New Jerusalem with God. So I can sit back on my balcony and enjoy my coffee, because I know God is in charge, with his perfect plan. After all Jesus himself said “It is finished” (John 19:30) So go into to your day, with the knowledge imbedded firmly in you heart “All is well and God is in his Heaven”
