Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
Genesis 1:27
God created the whole universe and everything in it, including mankind. He created it to have somewhere to be in relationship with us, a perfect garden in a perfect universe. Then he gave all this perfection to us, to care for and to be responsible for. With ONE, and only ONE rule:
“but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:17
Well didn’t we do well, very quickly that is exactly what we did, Eve was deceived by a lie and was disobedient, and ate the forbidden fruit. Adam, well he failed, wimping out and not standing to up his God given responsibility for Eve, even eating of the fruit too. The consequence of their combined disobedience and lack of responsibility, caused ALL of creation to fall;
Then God said, “Creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” And it was so.
Romans 8:21-22
So not only where we separated from God and we lost eternal life with him. But creation itself is suffering because we failed to be responsible.
Today we live in a world, with the by word “It is not my problem”, the British economy is collapsing, because of the greed of the bankers, and politicians, yet they say this not our responsibility, it the unemployed scroungers draining our resources, it is the fault of the irresponsible common man borrowing money, even though it is expected of him. It is the common man’s fault not the people in charge.
When a bus company contracts to take school children on school trips, and the bus crashes because the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The bus company blames the driver saying he exceeded his maximum driving hours. Not to mention that they were to concerned with profit to lay on a relief driver, not their responsibility.
You can see that along with all sin, God takes lack of responsibility very seriously, so on the day of judgement, what are these bosses going say to God? Not my problem? Bringing this down to size, the question is what am I am Going to say to God when he asks me why I failed to bring my children up as Christians. Why I did not obey Him in matters of finance, and why did I not live up to the responsibilities He gave me?
I don’t know, but I do know I will be judged, and I will have to answer for my lack of responsibility, and that is frightening beyond belief. If that’s all there was I would die and be cast into an eternity of Torment without God.
Well it is good job, then, that there is more. Because of my faith in Jesus, and because I known that God has ALREADY punished Jesus instead of me, and I know that Jesus has my name written in his book, the book of life, and that Jesus will step up and acknowledge me before God (Revelation 20:11-15) and I will be Judged worthy because of what Jesus did for me and I shall live with Him in the new earth for all eternity. Revelation(21-22).
Praise the Lord, praise Jesus the holy sacrificial lamb who paid the price for me. At no cost to me; as a free gift.
