As you come to him, the living Stone \u2013 rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him \u2013 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ For in Scripture it says:
\n\u2018See, I lay a stone in Zion,
\na chosen and precious cornerstone<\/b>,
\nand the one who trusts in him
\nwill never be put to shame.
\n1 Peter 2:4-6<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Last Sunday, one of the Songs we were singing in Church, was the song \u201cCornerstone\u201d , written by Jonas Myrin, Reuben Morgan & Eric Liljero and Published through Hillsong Publishing. The chorus, of which, is as follows:-<\/p>\n

Christ alone; cornerstone
\nWeak made strong; in the Saviour’s love
\nThrough the storm, He is Lord
\nLord of all<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I have always known the words \u201cChrist is our cornerstone\u201d. But every time we sang the above chorus, the truth of what this means struck me almost to the floor. It is not just a nice fact, \u201cJesus is always there\u201d. Yes, and yes again \u201cJESUS IS ALWAYS THERE\u201d, he underpins everything we are, as redeemed Images of Him. But without Jesus there would have been no creation.<\/p>\n

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
\nColosssians 1:16<\/span><\/div>\n

Without Jesus there would be no redemption and would have to face the wrath of God and be destroyed.<\/p>\n

Jesus said, \u2018Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing
\nLuke 99:34<\/div>\n

Without Jesus there would only be death, for the “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23<\/span><\/p>\n

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord<\/b>.
\nRomans 8:37-39<\/span><\/div>\n

But worst of of all without Jesus we would be separated from God, and I don’t know about you but that thought sends shivers of fear to very bottom of my soul. Please NO, don’t leave me Lord.<\/p>\n

So to sum up, without Jesus as our cornerstone all we would have is desolation, loneliness and death. But with Jesus as our cornerstone, on whom we can stand firm in the sure knowledge of eternity with Him, sat at the right hand of God for all eternity.
